Code of Conduct
Why a Code of Conduct?
The purpose of any code of conduct is to establish a minimum standard of
behaviour required for swimmers on and off the poolside; this applies to
swimming lessons, training sessions and galas. By joining the club, all
members agree to abide by the rules contained in this code of conduct which have
been written to maintain the club's reputation as a friendly and disciplined
organisation and for the safety and well being of the swimmers.

The club will not tolerate bullying in any form. Members should behave
in an orderly manner when representing or associated with Westbury ASC.

teachers, coaches, team managers and officials
- Behave in a safe and responsible manner
- Not use abusive language or act in an aggressive manner
- Arrive on time to swimming lessons, training sessions and galas
and be ready on poolside to take part in a warm up prior to training or
competition swimming
- Behave in a 'sporting' manner in all races
Changing Room
Swimmers must:
- Behave in a responsible and orderly
manner in the shower area and changing rooms and change as quickly as possible

Away Galas
Swimmers must:

Sanctions / Punishment
At the discretion of the coaches, any swimmer breaking these rules will
receive a formal verbal warning from either the coaches or the team manager.
These warnings may be supplemented by exclusion from a training session for a
limited period or for the whole session. In such cases, there will be no
refund of fees. Likewise swimmers may be excluded from part or all of a
gala. Persistent offenders or anyone committing a serious offence will
receive a written warning from the committee.
Any recurrence may result in the club committee ruling that a swimmer is either
temporarily or permanently excluded from the club. Before this action is
taken, the swimmer and his / her parent will have the right to put their case to
the club committee. |
