Learn to swim

Learn to Swim is our swimming development programme and is based on the Amateur Swimming Association's National Plan for Teaching Swimming and is carefully structured at each level to get the best out of the swimmers.  Westbury has certainly been successful in this area and are regularly amongst the top three swimming clubs in the county vying for the John Ovens Trophy awarded to the club that teaches the most children to achieve a length certificate during the course of the year.

We run our programme throughout the year at Westbury Swimming Pool which offers teaching for all ages and abilities.

  • Give your children the benefits of learning to swim in a safe and fun environment.
  • We teach children from the age of 4, the basics of swimming and water safety
  • As confidence, strength and ability increase, we teach the children technique
  • We concentrate on swimming technique as a means to improving ability and enjoyment
  • Those wanting to compete have the chance to improve their standard to a level where they can represent the club in swimming galas.

These sessions are run on Wednesday evenings.  If you would like more details or would like to place your child on the waiting list, please contact
